If you insist on not heeding the
warnings to evacuate before a hurricane hits, at the very least
prepare your home, get kids and pets out of harm’s way, and make
yourself useful by helping to document the occurrence of damage by
videotaping important details.
You may be able to sell your video footage to POA and/or to
homeowners who evacuated and have no proof about what came first:
the Wind of the Rain.
This proof will be necessary for homeowners whose insurers refuse to
pay covered claims. And, we all know that is exactly what happens.
When to video:
Do not attempt to video damage if doing so puts your life in
jeopardy. And, if you venture outside while the eye of the storm
passes, do not stray too far from a sturdy shelter.
What to video:
The key to the VALUE of your video is its content. POA and
homeowners would only be interested in purchasing your video if it
proves that the building (home) was destroyed by wind or driving
rain, not by rising water (flood or storm surge). |
Examples of a
VALUABLE video footage includes:
• a roof or portions of a roof being BLOWN OFF BEFORE rising flood
waters occurred;
• debris and/or trees crashing into a structure BEFORE rising flood
waters occurred;
• any structural damage to building BEFORE rising flood waters
occurred.
Video format:
VHS or DVD format is preferred.
Remember, it’s best to heed mandatory evacuation orders however some
choose to stay behind. If you opt to not evacuate and take
precautions to stay safe while video taping damage, your video
footage could be the difference between recovery or financial ruin
for many property owners.
After you shoot your video, contact POA and we will purchase your
footage on an exclusive use basis only for cold hard cash. Email us
